Children Orthodontics
If you think that orthodontic treatment will only improve your child's smile, you need to read this! Orthodontic treatment can help your child bite and chew, achieve a clear speech and even breathe better. Straight teeth are less prone to decay, gum disease and injury too. An attractive smile is a pleasant side effect of orthodontic treatment, and can boost your child's self-confidence. So, why not consider your child to get an orthodontic check up early?
American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child be evaluated between the ages of 6 and 8 years old. At that early age, it’s possible to determine if there are issues related to the child’s growth or tooth positions that should be addressed sooner. Early treatment can be recommended to correct crossbites, underbites, extreme crowding, impacted permanent teeth, under or over developed jaws that affect the profile and bite, and constricted airways. With early treatment, we can take a preventative approach to avoid more invasive approaches in the future.
For children who don’t need early treatment, we’ve designed our Growth Monitor program. We’ll see them at least once a year to take pictures of their growth and determine the right time and options for treatment. Plus, they will learn great habits that will help them maintain a healthy, beautiful smile.
